Road Rage In Southampton

Police investigating a road rage incident in Southampton city centre are appealing for witnesses.

It happened in Palmerston Road at around 1pm on Friday, May 25. The driver of a white Ford Escort van reversed his vehicle ‘ramming’ a Peugeot 206 which in turn was shunted into a Mercedes.

The van driver then drove off at speed. No one was injured in the incident.

Police are appealing for witnesses to what happened. They believe there would have been a number of other people in vehicles and on foot who would have seen what happened at that time of day.

They are asked to contact PC Matthew Card at Southampton Central Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

A 47-year-old man from Netley Abbey has been arrested in connection with the incident and another similar case in Woolston on May 13. He has been released on bail while further enquiries are underway until June 13.
