Police in Southampton area appealing for witnesses after a woman told officers she had been raped on Thursday, December 23.
The 38-year-old woman had met a man a short time before in Empress Road, Bevois Valley and had walked with him to the Tesco Express in Lodge Road.
The returned in the direction they had come from a short time later. They went into the car park at the rear of Infinity Motorcycles at around 11.15pm where the woman told police she was hit to the head with a brick or something similar,
threatened and raped.
She managed to call officers while she was being attacked but was unable to tell them where she was before she was cut off. She was eventually traced.
The man is known to have been seen by at least two witnesses but officers say there would have been lots of other people in the area at around that time either walking or driving who may have seen the pair as they walked along or heard the
woman scream out or witnessed the attack.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who thinks they saw the man and woman together or the attacker or has information about the crime. They are asked to call Bitterne CID on 101 or call s anonymously on 0800 555 111.
