Serious Sex Attack On Woman In Southampton

Police in Southampton area appealing for witnesses after a woman told officers she had been raped on Thursday, December 23.

The 38-year-old woman had met a man a short time before in Empress Road, Bevois Valley and had walked with him to the Tesco Express in Lodge Road.

The returned in the direction they had come from a short time later. They went into the car park at the rear of Infinity Motorcycles at around 11.15pm where the woman told police she was hit to the head with a brick or something similar,
threatened and raped.

She managed to call officers while she was being attacked but was unable to tell them where she was before she was cut off. She was eventually traced.

The man is known to have been seen by at least two witnesses but officers say there would have been lots of other people in the area at around that time either walking or driving who may have seen the pair as they walked along or heard the
woman scream out or witnessed the attack.

The attacker is described as white, aged in his mid to late 20s, 5ft 6 inches tall and wearing a beige jacket, blue jeans and blue beanie hat. The victim was wearing a black puffa jacket, black leggings, a grey skirt, black boots and a snood.
