Police are appealing for witnesses after a security guard delivering cash to the Lloyds TSB Bank in the High Street, Ringwood was robbed at around 9am this morning (1st Feb).
A man came up to him snatched the cash cassette he was carrying and then got on a motorbike that was being driven by another man that was waiting nearby.
They then rode off up Mansfield Road towards the duel carriageway.
The Black Honda SH300, scooter style, motorbike has since been found abandoned at Narrow Lane in Poulner near the slip road on to the A31 eastbound.
No one was hurt in the incident but bank staff and the guard were left shocked by what happened.
The cash cassette was found abandoned and empty nearby.
A search is currently being carried out for the robbers and officers are appealing for any witnesses to the incident.
The motorbike rider was wearing dark clothing and a black helmet. It's thought likely they travelled from outside the area to commit the robbery.
