Teen Charged After Isle Of Wight Stabbing

Detectives on the Isle of Wight have charged a teenager after a youth was stabbed and another injured in East Cowes on Friday night (February 4th)

At around 9.45pm, officers were called Gort Road, East Cowes, after reports of a public order incident involving a large group of teenagers.

A 16-year-old boy received a knife wound to his back during the incident and an 18-year-old man was also assaulted. At the time officers arrested two other youths, aged 16 and 18, on suspicion of carrying out these assaults.

Now an 18-year-old from Newport has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife. He will appear before Isle of Wight Magistrates Court today (Monday, February 7th).

The 16-year-old arrested has been released on bail until April 13th while enquiries continue.
