Train Station Attack In Portsmouth

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault outside Portsmouth and Southsea train station.

The incident took place at around 3.50am on Saturday, August 4.

Having left a nightclub in the city centre the victim and his friends were approached by a group of around 15 men, one of whom had assaulted the victim inside the nightclub earlier in the evening. A scuffle broke out which
was broken up by door staff.

The victim, a 19-year-old man, was then approached again outside the train station by one of the group who hit him, resulting in a fractured jaw.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect one:

-White man

-Tanned complexion

-Approximately 6ft 1 tall

-Stocky build

-Short dark hair

-21 to 22-years-old

-Wearing a plain white t-shirt.

 

Suspect two:

-White man

-Tanned complexion

-Approximately 5ft 7 tall

-Longish black wavy/curly hair

-19 to 20-years-old

-Wearing a red, black and white long sleeved checked shirt.

 

Suspect three:

-White man

-Approximately 5ft 6 to 5ft 7 tall

-Short blond hair

-18 to 19-years-old

-Wearing a black t-shirt with a collar.

 

Detective Constable Jackie Foley said:

"There were a number of taxis and people in the area at the time of the incident and I would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this assault or the earlier incidents to contact the police. You may be able to help us to identify the people involved."
