The family of an 86-year-old who died after being hit by a car outside Morrisons in Totton say she was an exceptional woman.
Police were called at 11.59am on Thursday 12 July to reports of a collision involving a Peugeot 206 and two pedestrians on a walkway outside Morrison's on Spruce Drive.
One of the pedestrians, Doris Mary Lush, 86, of Park Road in Chandler's Ford, was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment where she died a short time later.
The family of Mrs Lush have released the following tribute:
"Doris Mary Lush was an exceptional woman, a wonderful mother and amazing grandmother. Her death has sent shockwaves through our family. Words cannot express the sense of loss in such a tragic incident."
Police say enquiries into exactly what happened remain on-going at this time.
The second pedestrian involved in the collision, a 22-year-old woman from Chandler's Ford, was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment to life-changing injuries.
The driver of the Peugeot, a 76-year-old woman from Totton, suffered minor injuries.
