An elderly woman has died four days after a collision on Portsdown Hill Road.
The crash, involving a green Honda Civic and a white Ford Fiesta, happened shortly before 4pm on Friday (Aug17) close to the junction of Beverley Grove.
The 83-year-old woman from Fareham, the front-seat passenger in the Civic, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital where she died yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 21st August) with her family at her bedside.
The driver of the Civic, an 84-year-old man from Fareham, sustained serious injuries in the collision and was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham for treatment before being transferred to SGH where he is recovering.
The Fiesta driver, an 18-year-old man from Wickham, was uninjured.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, or anyone who saw either vehicle prior to it, to call Sergeant Shaun Hopkins at Fratton Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Allerstone.
