Woman Released Without Charge After Stabbing

A woman arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released without charge.

The 36 year old was initially arrested on suspicion of trying to murder a man who stumbled into Southampton General at 8.45pm on Tuesday 14th September, saying he’d been stabbed.

Police believe the incident may be linked to a robbery in Golden Grove in Southampton that happened around an hour before, when a woman had her necklace stolen by a man.The robber and an accomplice made off in a white transit style van.

The 38 year old injured man’s condition was critical but has now improved and he’s been arrested on suspicion of robbery. He’ll be questioned later.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for any witnesses who may have seen anyone suspicious hanging around Golden Grove around the time of the robbery, or who saw the incident itself.

They also want to hear from anyone who has information about the stabbing or who knows where it happened.
