Woman Sexually Assaulted In Southampton

Police are trying to trace witnesses to a sex assault in Southampton during the early hours of Sunday, October 31.

A 25-year-old woman was walking home along Southcliff Road between 2..30 and 2.45 am when she was approached from behind by a man on the junction of Dover Street.

The man forced the victim against a wall. She fought with her attacker for a few minutes as he sexually assaulted her. He then ran from the scene.

Police are trying to find witnesses and also trace the man who carried out the attack.

He is described as:

Asian,
In his 20s
5ft 7 inches tall,
Light brown skin,
No facial hair,
Dark brown hair, short hair with a fringe,
Small face,
Skinny build.

He was wearing a dark coloured jacket, which was waist length and done up, it was made of a waterproof type material and was red around the top part with possible yellow marks on the sleeves.
