Woman Tied Up During Southampton Burglary

Police are investigating after a woman was threatened and tied up by burglars in Southampton.

It happened just before midday yesterday (Tuesday 14 October). The occupant of an address on Howard Road opened her front door to two men, who then forced their way into her home.
 
The men had their faces covered and were armed with a metal bar and a small knife.
 
The woman, who was alone at home at the time of the incident, was tied up. The offenders got away with electrical items and jewellery.
 
The men police want to speak to are described as:
 
- Aged between 30 and 38
- Around 5ft 9ins
- Well built
- Wearing dark clothing
- They spoke in Polish
 
Detective Constable Daniel Farrell, said:

“I am appealing for anyone with information about this incident to come forward and speak to us.
 
“As always, I would urge members of the community to be vigilant and use spy holes and door chains where possible, before answering the door if they have any concerns.  If in doubt, don’t open the door and contact us on 101, or, in an emergency, 999.
 
“Were you in the area at the time? Did you see anything suspicious? If you have any information, please get in touch as soon as possible and tell us what you know.”
