Aldham: One Dead in Plane Crash

One person has died in a light aircraft crash in Aldham near Hadleigh in Suffolk.

A member of the public called police at approximately 11.20am,  with a report that a light aircraft had come down in the village and hit a tree.

The aircraft also became submerged in a pond.

Police can confirm that one casualty has been found dead at the scene but at the moment  it is not known if there are any further  casualties.

Air Accident Investigators are on their way to the scene.

An area around the location has been cordoned off by police and work is being done on some nearby power lines.
