Bury St Edmunds Fatal Fire: Death No Longer Unexplained

The death of a man found after a house fire Stanton is no longer being treated as unexplained by police.

Emergency services were called to the fire in Drovers Rise, Stanton at around 4am on Monday. The body of a man, who was believed to be his eighties, was found inside.

A post mortem examination took place yesterday afternoon and the cause of death was given as smoke inhalation.

After an investigation into the cause of the blaze the death is no longer being treated as unexplained and no other party is thought to have been involved.

The death will now be referred to the coroner.
