Bury St Edmunds: Jewellers Death Update

Police have been granted further time to question a 30-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder of Peter Avis at Bury St Edmunds.

Magistrates have granted officers until Thursday 19 January, to continue to hold the man, who was the first arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday 15 January.

A 34-year-old man has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary in relation to the investigation. Pawel Pacian, an unemployed man from Lake Avenue in Bury St Edmunds, is due to appear in Bury Magistrates Court this morning.

An 18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder and conspiracy to commit burglary, and a 26-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary - have been released on police bail. They are due to return to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on Tuesday 20 March.

A 34-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on police bail and is due to return to the Ipswich Police Investigation Centre on Tuesday 27 March.
