Bury St Eds: Man Charged After Jewellery Shop Theft

Police in Bury St Edmunds were called after reports someone had taken jewellery worth nearly £1500 from a store in Abbeygate Street.


A man's been charged after nearly 15 hundreds pounds worth of jewellery was taken from a shop.

Police were called to Abbeygate Street in Bury St Edmunds at around half four on Monday afternoon after reports that items had been taken from a shop assistant.

A number of members of public had assisted in detaining a man on High Baxter Street. Items of jewellery were recovered.

The man was arrested and taken to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

18 year old Jamie Blake, of no fixed address, has been charged with theft and's due in court in the new year.
