Chemical Spill Closes Suffolk Road

Police had to close the A1095 at Reydon after a chemical spill at Halesworth Road.

Officers were contacted by the fire service just after 10am this morning after reports that a drum of nitric acid on a lorry on the road there was leaking.

Traffic going to and from Southwold was directed via Wangford or Wrentham.

The spill has now been contained and the area made safe, with the drum having been removed from the road.

No-one was injured.
