Felixstowe Murder: Police Given More Time

Detectives have been given more time to speak to speak to a man on suspicion of murder after someone was found stabbed in Felixstowe in Suffolk on Friday evening.

Police were called to Selvale Way at 9pm yesterday evening by the ambulance service who were treating an injured 29-year-old man. He later died in hospital.

A post mortem examination has been carried out, and found that the man died as a result of being stabbed.

A 23-year-old man from Ipswich and a 54-year-old man from Felixstowe have been arrested on suspicion of murder. A magistrate has granted a warrant of further detention of the 23-year-old, and police can now hold him for a further 36 hours until Monday morning.

A 24-year-old man from Felixstowe, arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary in connection with this incident, has been released on police bail and must return to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre on 7 February 2012.
