Eight men from Kettering, Northamptonshire, have been jailed for a series of nationwide robberies, namely at Coral bookmakers.

The Coral premises targeted by this organised and prolific group of criminals (one of whom is pictured her) included addresses in Suffolk. The group were jailed for a total of 35 years on Monday.

Detective Sergeant Alison Tall, from Northamptonshire Police’s Organised Crime Unit, said: “Operation Zara was a co-ordinated investigation into a locally-based organised crime group committing crimes against Corals bookmakers nationally.

"The criminal activities of this group caused a substantial loss to the victims, in terms of the money stolen, the damage caused to premises and the loss of business.

"The action taken by Northamptonshire Police has ultimately led to the dismantling of this organised and prolific group for a significant period of time."
