Suffolk firefighters have spent the night at the scene of a fire in Lady Lane Industrial Estate in Hadleigh, where three fuel tankers were alight.

Fire control took a call shortly before 6.45pm this evening to report the incident, and up to 10 fire vehicles were called to help put out the flames.

Firefighters worked throughout the evening to prevent the fire spreading from three mobile fuel tankers to other parts of the industrial estate. This included a static tanker, which is estimated to contain anything up to 80,000 litres of gas oil.

At 21:39 the fire was brought under control and surrounding roads have now reopened.

Local people were being told to avoid the area and to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution. No one was hurt in the fire.
