Ipswich: Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Wasting Police Time

A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wasting police time following an incident in Ipswich on Monday night.
Following information received by police of concerns for the safety of a woman at a property in Norwich Road, a police operation was launched. The road was cordoned off for public safety, armed police and the force helicopter were deployed and seven people were initially detained at the address, including the woman who concerns had been expressed for.
They were taken to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where an account was given by the woman. No offences were disclosed and all seven have now been released and will face no further police action.
Following this the 29-year-old man, from Ipswich, was arrested on suspicion of wasting police time. He is currently in custody at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where he is being interviewed by officers.
