Ipswich: Man Hit With Bottles In Robbery

Suffolk Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Ipswich on New Year's Eve.

At approximately 7pm Saturday 31st December, as a 37-year-old man walked along Rendlesham Road, near to the Freemasons Arms, he was approached by two men who threatened to harm him, the man ran off but was followed by the two men who hit him around the head with large bottles.

The man had his wallet stolen before the men made off. He sustained cuts to his head and hands.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident, the men are described as both being black, around 6’2’’ tall and both wearing dark clothing.
