Ipswich: Murder Suspect Taken To Hospital

A 37-year-old man from Ipswich  arrested on suspicion of murder has been taken to hospital after feeling unwell in custody.

He was arrested in the early hours of this morning after a man died following an incident at a block of flats.

Police were called at around 2:50am this morning, Thursday 13 June with an initial report of a woman being stabbed at a property in Saturn Road.

Police and the ambulance service attended the scene where a man was discovered with stab wounds. He was taken to Ipswich hospital but was later declared deceased.

A woman, in her 50s was also found at the scene with leg injuries. She was taken to Ipswich hospital and treated for her injuries but has since been released.

The 37-year-old man who was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and was taken to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

He has since been taken to hospital after feeling unwell in custody and remains there under police arrest.

A cordon remains in place around a block of flats in Ipswich whilst police continue with their enquiries following the murder of a man.

A post mortem examination on the deceased man is due to take place this afternoon, Thursday 13 June.

The cordon will remain around the block of flats for the foreseeable future, whilst officers continue with their enquiries.
