Ipswich: Security Guard Attacked In Supermarket

Police in Ipswich are searching for a man after a security guard was assaulted.

It happened at a Lidl supermarket in London Road yesterday (Sunday 21st July) at around 12:20pm. The security guard had confronted the man near to a loading bay at the back of the store.

The offender pulled out a knife and kneed the guard in the ribs. The security guard then sprayed red paint at the man before he ran off up towards Hanford Road.

The man is described as black, in his late thirties and with a tattoo on the right side of his neck. He was wearing a grey hoodie, dark blue jogging bottoms and white trainers.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a man with red paint on him and matching the above description to get in contact. Officers are advising members of the public not to approach him.
