Man Charged After Flat Stand Off

A man has been charged after a standoff outside a flat in Ipswich that lasted several hours.

The 48-year-old man has been charged with threatening behaviour and two counts of criminal damage following the incident in Fonnereau Road in Ipswich yesterday morning, Wednesday 3 August.

Iain Kirkup from Fonnereau Road was detained in custody at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre overnight and is now due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court this morning, Thursday 4 August.

The damage charges relate to a flat in Fonnereau Road and a Suffolk Police van.
