Police are investigating after two teenage girls reported seeing a woman being forced to get into a vehicle in Newmarket on Wednesday evening, 30 October.
Officers were contacted just after 7.30pm to reports that the girls had seen a man get out of a car and grab the woman, who appeared to be in her early 20s, of slim build and with mousey brown/ blonde hair in a ponytail and wearing a long grey cardigan, before forcing her into the vehicle in Granary Road.
The vehicle was described as being dark in colour, similar to a Ford Focus in size, and having tinted/ blacked out windows at the back, while the man was described as being of Asian appearance, in his 30s, around 5ft 7ins – 5ft 8ins tall, of skinny build, with short dark hair and wearing a black leather bomber-style jacket and black jeans.
Since then police say they have been making enquiries including conducting house to house visits, carrying out vehicle checks and speaking to walkers in the area but no one officers have so far spoken to had seen the incident.
At this stage there have been no corresponding reports of any missing young women, however police are trying to determine exactly what occurred and are asking anyone who may have been in the area around this time who may have any information to come forward.
