Ram Raid At Shop

Police are telling Heart about a robbery this morning where the front of a shop was smashed in by a minibus.

It happened at around 3:30am following reports of a burglary at an antiques shop on Little St Mary's in Long Melford in Suffolk.

Officers arrived to find thieves had stolen a quantity of jewellery.

Investigating Officer, DI David Giles, said: "We will be examining CCTV later today and liaising with the shop owner to establish how much jewellery was stolen. A substantial amount of damage has been caused to the shop and to display cabinets. We will also be looking to identify the transfer vehicle, locating this and then arresting those people behind this crime."

A blue minibus was used by the men who later abandoned it on Liston Lane on the Essex border before transferring to a getaway vehicle.
