Red Lodge: Armed Robbery

18 December 2011, 06:00

Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery at a cafe in Red Lodge in the early hours yesterday morning.

At around 2.30am five men wearing balaclavas entered the Red Lodge Cafe on Turnpike Road armed with metal bars. One of the men threatened a member of staff and demanded cash from the till and safe.

The men left with cash, a handbag and charity boxes, driving off in a small white 4x4 towards Newmarket on the A11.

A burnt-out car was later found in a field in Chippenham, Cambridgeshire.

Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen the 4x4 in the area before or after the robbery occurred, or anyone else with any information about this incident.

Calls should be made to West Suffolk CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
