Suffolk: Woman's Body Found At House Fire

The body of a woman has been found at the scene of a house fire in Kentford, Suffolk.

 Police were called by the Fire Service at approximately 9.20am on Friday (February 8th) with a report that a property was on fire in Bury Road, Kentford.

Road closures and diversions have been put in place and will remain in place for sometime.

A man, aged in his 60s was taken to West Suffolk hospital in Bury St Edmunds suffering from smoke inhalation.

A cordon remains in place around the property whilst fire investigators, with the assistance of officers from Suffolk Police try to establish the cause of the fire.

The person's death, as is standard procedure, is being treated as unexplained at this stage.

A post mortem examination is due to take place tomorrow, Saturday 9 February in order to ascertain the cause of death.

The Coroner has been informed.

Witnesses from the scene have been spoken to, but police would like anyone who was in the area to call them on 101.
