Unusual Sculpture Stolen

It's now been four weeks since a giant insect sculpture was taken from Castle Hedingham and there's still no sign of the artwork.

Villagers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

The one off scultpure, which weighs more than 45 kilos, has been in Castle Hedingham for a decade.  The giant insect is made from iron by a man called Steed Doe who's known for taking odd shaped pieces of metal and turning them into art.

He explains: "We believed at first the sculpture was taken as a prank and would soon be returned, but it hasn’t. I am baffled and disappointed. When you make a sculpture, as an artist, it’s still very much part of you.

“We just want it back here where it belongs".
