A young girl from Long Melford is helping charity after seeing another child suffer liver disease.
8 year old Jessica Farrow-Leonard is raising cash for the Children's Liver Disease Foundation as part of Big Yellow Friday. She has been selling badges and has co-ordinated a five mile walk today (Saturday 6th March). She has even managed to convince one of her Mum's friends to shave off her hair in aid of the appeal!
Jessica told us about what inspired her to fundraise. She said; "I have a friend called Ava, she was born with a poorly liver, and she had to have two transplants before she was one. It was a bit shocking that there is such a disease."
Ava's second transplant was a success and Jessica told us she wanted to do something to help the Children's Liver Disease Foundation: "It is a very important charity and more than 2 children are diagnosed with liver disease every day.
"It makes me feel really happy what the charity have done and I'm really glad that Ava is better now."
