A 13-year-old local girl has been struck by a car as she crossed the toucan crossing opposite the Yeoman pub in Worthing this morning.

The 13-year-old local girl was struck by a car as she crossed the toucan crossing on the A259 Littlehampton Road near to the Yeoman pub, at 8.05am on Thursday (20 September).

The driver of the dark blue vehicle which was travelling eastbound, then got out of his car and shouted at the girl, before leaving the scene.

He was believed to have been possibly driving a BMW saloon.

A woman driving a silver car stopped to help the child.

The girl was treated for minor injuries when she arrived at school.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who has any dash cam footage.
