There has been an attempted arson of a house in Crawley, where people including a young child were at home.
A window at the front of the house in Selsey Road was smashed, shortly before 10.15pm on Sunday (September 23).
Petrol had then been splashed inside the property.
A number of people were in the house at the time, including a young child asleep in bed.
A dark-coloured car, possibly black and described as long and 'newish', was seen in the area shortly before.
Firefighters were called and attended, but the fuel was not ignited.
The police are treating the incident as arson with intent to endanger life.
Officers would like to hear from anyone with information about the vehicle that was spotted or anything connected with the incident.
