CCTV of the incident released yesterday was viewed more than 2 million times before it was taken down by police.
Two people have now been arrested in connection with the hit and run in Brighton.
A 53-year-old man was left with serious injuries after being hit by a Fiat 500, which didn't stop, on Montague Place on January 14.
A 31-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman, both from Brighton, have been arrested. The 31-year-old was arrested after trying to hide on a roof in Donald Hall Road, Brighton.
The man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing serious injury, attempting to pervert the course of justice and aggravated vehicle taking. The woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
They are both still in custody at this time.
Sgt Dan Pitcher from Sussex Police has told Heart:
``We are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or can give us information which will help with our investigation.
``The Fiat drove off, leaving the victim for dead, and clearly they would have known they had hit someone.
``The pedestrian, a man from Hove, suffered serious head injuries and is thankfully making a recovery.''
