Brighton and Hove City Council Start Consultation On Whether To Create Different Term Dates So Families Can Get Cheaper Holidays
The council’s Children, Young People and Skills Committee is considering offering more flexibility for parents throughout the year in relation to school holidays.
This follows a petition to the committee late last year about the cost of holidays during current school holiday periods. The committee also recognised that not all families are able to take time off during these times due to the nature of their work.
The committee is keen to hear the views of parents, pupils, headteachers, trade unions and others who would be affected on proposals that could address this matter. In its discussions the committee also considered the alignment of INSET days at schools across the city.
