Car Rallies

Cars from the future and from the past will be making their way through the Sussex and Surrey countryside this weekend.

The Brighton to London Future Car Challenge will be showcasing the future of the motor car on Saturday.

It features electric, hybrid and low-emission cars, LCVs and motorcycles, all attempting to use the lowest energy possible on the 60 mile route from Brighton seafront to Pall Mall and Regent Street in London.

They set off from Brighton between 6:30am and 9:30am.

The vehicles will make their way through Sussex, taking a pit stop at Central Sussex College in Crawley en route between 8:30am and 10:30am.

The London to Brighton Vetran Car Run takes place on Sunday.

It's the world's longest running motoring event attracting people from all over the world.

For the owners of the cars it is a rare oppourtunity to take them on a 60 mile run from Hyde Park in central London to Brighton seafront.

Around 500 vehicles will be taking part.
