Drugs Worth £80,000 Found At Gatwick

Two kilos of drugs, worth £80,000 pounds have been found at Gatwick Airport.


The drugs, which were discovered on Monday, 1 October, weighed approximately two kilos.

They have an estimated street value of at least £80,000.

Border Force officers stopped and questioned a passenger who had recently arrived on a flight from Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Officers searched the passengers luggage and found drugs concealed in packets of spice within a suitcase.

 Tim Kingsberry, Director of Border Force South said:

"Every year Border Force officers seize Class A drugs worth hundreds of million of pounds.

“Working with law enforcement colleagues like the National Crime Agency we are determined to prevent drug trafficking."

 A 44 year-old British woman from South Norwood in London was arrested and the investigation passed to the NCA.

She was later released under investigation while the enquiries continue.
