East Sussex Fire Crews Tackle Fire

Crews worked hard through the night to bring the fire under control at Industrial Unit in Hailsham.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service are scaling back an operation to tackle a fire in Hailsham.
The alarm was raised at 21.47 on 15 August 2017, when the Service received a number of repeat calls.
Crews from the following stations attended during the incident (this includes relief crews who took over during the night): Herstmonceux, Eastbourne, Pevensey, Bexhill's Command Support Unit, Seaford, Heathfield, Uckfield Preston Circus, Barcombe, Broad Oak, Mayfield and Burwash.
As of 08:00 on 16 August 2017 three fire engines, the water carrier and an aerial ladder platform remain at the scene on Diplocks Way.
Any type of smoke can be an irritant and locals are being asked to keep away from the area and to keep doors and windows closed.
At the height of the incident six fire engines were in attendance along with the aerial ladder platform and the water carrier.
The fire is at a two storey industrial unit measuring approximately 8 metres by 30 metres.
There are no reports of injuries.
