Sussex Beacon Half Marathon

The 20th Sussex Beacon Half Marathon takes place this weekend. Here are details of road closures in place during the race on Sunday:

Madeira Drive and Dukes Mound will be closed for the duration of the event from 06:00 until about 15:00.

 

The following Road closures will be in operation from 09:30 on Sunday 21st February until runners clear:

 

Old Steine - Marlborough Place - Gloucester Place - Cheapside - Pelham Street - Trafalgar Street - Sydney Street - Kensington Street - North Road - Jubilee Street -Church Street - New Road -North Street - Ship Street.

 

At Black Lion Street the runners will be turning EAST and cross over onto West bound carriageway on Kings Road –one lane will remain closed for duration of the event.

 

On Aquarium roundabout one lane will be closed for duration with barriers in place to make a lane for runners.

 

On the Trains

Southern Railways say due to engineering works, the line between Littlehampton and Brighton will be closed all day on Sunday 21st February.

This means buses will replace trains between these stations. Southern Railways are recommending that people allow extra time for their journeys to ensure they reach the start on time.
