Teenagers Stabbed In Brighton

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after two teenagers were stabbed in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

Both victims were taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital.

They are a 17-year-old local boy, who sustained a wound to the chest, and an 18-year-old local man, who sustained wounds to his right forearm and left hand.

Neither injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

They were attacked in Temple Street, Brighton, about 3.50am on Tuesday (1 January).

A maintenance employee, of Temple Street in Brighton, was arrested.

The 36 year old was remanded in custody to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 2 January, charged with committing grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He has since been further remanded ahead of a further hearing at Lewes Crown Court on 30 January.

Police say there were a number of people in the area at the time and police are appealing for any witnesses to report it online or call 101.
