Tributes To Paperboy

A boy who was seriously injured in a collision on Hangleton Road, Hove, on Friday 6 May, who has sadly died, was 14-year-old Declan Hubert



Declan of Hangleton Manor Close, Hove, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after he was in collision with a blue Mazda estate car at 7.50am. Declan sadly died on Sunday night (8 May).

Declan's parents, Jeremy and Caroline Hubert, say:

 "We are amazed and greatly encouraged by the overwhelming support of the community in Brighton and of people's prayers and their best wishes."We have had an absolute avalanche of contact from people saying they are praying for us - from people across the world.

"Declan was a wonderful gentle boy who had a strong faith in God. He was a gifted guitarist and he enjoyed his friends and was loved by his family. "He showed great respect for authority and was often described by his teachers as a very polite young man.

"Yes we have suffered a great loss and many tears have been shed, but we have absolute confidence that Declan is now in a very happy place with his lord and saviour Jesus in Heaven."

Road Policing officers are investigating the collision and ask any witnesses to contact Sussex Police via 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Westmark.
