Taking Care Of Business May 2019.

RULES
1.    The following rules (“Specific Rules”) together with the general competition terms and conditions (which can be found at https://www.heart.co.uk/terms-conditions/) (the “Competition Terms and Conditions”) of Global (as defined in the Competition Terms and Conditions) apply to the ‘Taking Care Of Business’ radio competition (the “Competition") which will run from 27/05/2019 to 09/06/2019 on Heart North East, Heart North West, Heart West Midlands and Heart Yorkshire (the “Radio Stations”).
2.    Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have read and accepted the Specific Rules and the Competition Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them. 

Details of the Competition:
3.    To enter the Competition an Entrant must go online to one of the following websites and register their details:

Online entry will open at 00:00 on 27/05/2019 and close at 23:59 on 09/06/2019.
4.    Entrants must nominate a small local business and explain why they believe their nominated local business should win the main prize of £10,000 (Prize 1). Entrants can either be:
4.1    Members of the public who want to nominate a small local business which they like and support. The nominated business will be asked if they wish to become an Entrant too; or
4.2    A small business owner who is nominating their own business for the prize.
What type of businesses can be nominated?
5    Nominated businesses must be based in one of the following regions; North West, West Midlands, Yorkshire or Teeside. Any nominated business which is based outside of these regions will not be eligible and the entry will be invalid.
6    Nominated businesses must have less than 100 employees, have a turnover of under £2 million a year and must not be a franchise or part of a chain.
7    Offensive/inappropriate entries or entries for banking businesses deemed to be competitors of Yorkshire Bank will be excluded from the Competition.
8    If an Entrant wishes to nominated another business to enter the Competition, it must have obtained permission from that nominated business owner prior to entering.

Eligibility of individual Entrants who are nominating a business:
9    Entrants must be aged 18 years or over.
10    Entry is restricted to one entry per person. Duplicate entries will be excluded from the Competition.
11    Individual Entrants will only have the chance to win Prize 3. They will not participate in the part of the Competition for business Entrants to win the main prize and runner-up prizes (Prizes 1 and 2). Prize details are provided in clauses 26-32.

Eligibility of business Entrants:
12    A business can only submit one nomination, or alternatively, it can enter on behalf of itself.
13    If an Entrant has nominated a business to enter this Competition (i.e. it is not nominating itself), the nominated business will be contacted by the Promoter using telephone details available in the public domain, and asked if it wishes to participate in the Competition. If the nominated business wishes to participate, it will be required to read and agree to these Terms & Conditions, the General Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy for the Competition before the closing date. If the business fails to do this, it will not be able to participate in the Competition. After agreeing to the Terms & Conditions, the General Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy, the business will thereafter be treated as a business Entrant. Businesses that enter the Competition under this clause 13, do not need to submit an entry online as described in clause 3.   
14    The local business owner may be asked to provide evidence that they are the business owner or that their business is listed on Companies House.
15    The person entering this Competition on behalf of a business Entrant must be 18 years or over.
16    Nominated businesses will have a chance to win the main prize and runner-up prizes (Prize 1 and 2), but will not be able to win Prize 3. Business Entrants that have not nominated themselves will only have the chance to win Prize 3.  Prize details are provided in clauses 26-32.
Initial shortlisting stage of business Entrants for Prizes 1 and 2
17    All eligible entries will be entered into a draw that will select a shortlist of 40 business Entrants using a random  selection generator.
18    The 40 entries will then be passed on to a judging panel, consisting of an independent judge, as well as representatives from The Newcastle Chronicle, Manchester Evening News and The Huddersfield Examiner.
Finalist stage for Prizes 1 and 2
19    Between 10/06/19 – 12/06/19 the judging panel will select 5 finalist business Entrants from the shortlist of 40, based on the following judging criteria:  the businesses that are the i) most innovative, ii) most passionate; and iii) most community-focused.
20    Due diligence checks will be carried out on each of the finalist businesses by the independent judging panel (for example, to check if the businesses have been involved in fraudulent activity). Entries deemed to bring the Promoter, its media partners or Yorkshire Bank into disrepute will be eliminated and replaced by the next highest scoring business at this stage.
21    The owners of the 5 finalist businesses will be contacted by the Promoter, who will explain the next steps of progressing into the finalist stage. The owners of the business Entrants must confirm that they will be available for a recording, interview and photoshoot with the Promoter and its media partner, Reach plc, from 24/06/2019 – 27/06/2019. The business owner must confirm that they will be available for a recording, interview and photoshoot with Global Media & Entertainment and Reach from 24/06/2019 – 27/06/2019.
If the business Entrant owner is unavailable to attend the recording, interview and photoshoot, they will forfeit their position as a finalist and another eligible entry will be selected and contacted, according to the above process and judging criteria.
By entering this Competition, business Entrants agree, if selected as a finalist: (i) to participate in an interview and photoshoot conducted by any of the  print publications listed under clause 21; (ii) that the resulting content of the interview and photoshoot (which shall include their name, imagery, likeness, voice., etc.) may be displayed and distributed by any of the  publications s and/or the Promoter; (iii) that their contact details may be shared with the publisher(s) for the purposes of the interview and photoshoot. entering this Competition, business Entrants agree (i) to participate in an interview and photoshoot conducted by any of the  print  publications  listed under clause 21; (ii) that the resulting content of the interview and photoshoot (which shall include their name, imagery, likeness, voice., etc.) may be displayed and distributed by any of the publications and/or Global; (iii)for their contact details to be shared with the publisher(s) for the purposes of the interview and photoshoot.

22    The content of the interviews and photoshoot with finalists may be published by any of the following publications:

Winner selection stage for Prize 1 and 2
23    The Competition winner will be selected by the judging panel consisting of an independent judge and a representative from The Mirror Online, no later than 05/07/2019. The winner will be chosen according to the following judging criteria; that the winning business is the i) most innovative, ii) most passionate, and iii) most community-focused. The judging panel’s decision will be based on both the initial entries and the content from the interviews described in clause 20.
24    The Competition winner will be notified via telephone by the Promoter who will provide further detail on the coordination of the Yorkshire Bank cheque handover presentation.
25    The Competition winner accepts that they may be subject to an interview and reward presentation between 15/06/2019 – 17/06/2019 to be presented formally with their prize from Yorkshire Bank. The Competition winner will be contacted by the Promoter's media partner, REACH plc. on 05/07/2019 by telephone or email to complete a consent agreement in relation to the published content. The Competition winner must complete this agreement, or they will forfeit their prize.
26    The Competition winner accepts that any recording/ imagery/ interview information recorded between 15/06/2019 – 17/06/2019 will be subject to broadcast or print both on-air and in local print publication (as listed in clause 21).

Prizes:
There are 3 types of prize to be won through this Competition:
Prize 1 – The main prize (business Entrants only):
27    The winning local business will receive a £10,000 cash prize on behalf of Yorkshire Bank.
28    The £10,000 prize will be sent via. BACS Transfer. Please allow up to 28 working days for receipt of this payment.
Prize 2: The runners-up prizes (business Entrants only)
29    The 4 unsuccessful finalists selected will receive a £2,500 cheque from Yorkshire Bank.
30    The £2,500 cheque will be sent by recorded delivery in the post. Please allow up to 28 working days for receipt of the cheque.
Prize 3: £500 Prize draw
31    All individual and business Entrants who have nominated another business to enter this Competition will be entered into a random prize draw to win a £500 cheque.
32    The winner of the £500 cheque will be chosen at random from all eligible entries and contacted via telephone within 14 days of the competition closing date (23/06/2019). The cheque will be sent by recorded delivery in the post within 28 working days of the competition date.
33    All Prizes are non-refundable and non-transferrable.  The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with a suitable alternative prize at its absolute discretion.
