Programmes that help get young people in Berkshire into sport are getting a £100,00 in lottery funding.
Get Berkshire Active says the money is for 8 week projects for 14-25 year-olds.
It's part of the national £32 million Lottery programme called Sportivate which gave funding to more than 80 projects in the county last year.
The scheme is designed to give young people who are not active in their own time, 6-8 week-long courses and a chance to find a club where they can take part.
Kirsty Heath of Get Berkshire Active said: "Last year we funded over 80 projects across the County and we are hoping to match that or even better it in 2013.
"Sportivate has been a tremendous success and we really want to hear from people wanting funding to help get young people involved in sport - particularly to encourage those who wouldn’t typically get involved. That is what Sportivate is all about - getting young people interested in sport and physical activity, and maintaining that interest."
First round of funding applications close on January 23 and need to be sent to Kirsty.heath@getberkshireactive.org.
