2012 Reading Half-Marathon

A large number of roads in Reading will be closed for short periods of time for today's Half-Marathon.

The rolling programme of closures start at 7am and are expected to run until 2pm. The first roads to shut are Shooters Way, Hoops Way, Northern Way, Brook Drive and Longwater Avenue.

Then at around 9:45am the A33 northbound and southbound will be closed with diversions signposted.

Visitors travelling to Reading on the M4 are advised to use junctions 10 and 12 to avoid getting caught up in delays. For a full list of closures click here.

All the town's car parks will be open as usual, except the Oracle Riverside will open at 11:30.

The run starts at 10:05 at Green Park and ends at the Madejski with 20,000 runners taking part.

The charities to benefit are the children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent, The Royal Berks Charity, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Sue Ryder Nettlebed Hospice, autism charity Autistica, Against Breast Cancer, Berkshire MS Therapy Centre, Duchess of Kent House Charity, Pancreatic Cancer UK and the Firefighters Charity.
