Andover Woman Sexually Assaulted

An 18-year-old woman has been sexually assaulted in Andover.

Hampshire Police say it happened between midnight atnd 1am on Saturday 18th March as the woman walked home.

The woman was followed by a man she didn't know as she was walking along River Way. He tried to kiss her and pushed her to the ground.

An unknown woman then came to the aid of the victim and the man ran off. The woman then walked the victim home.

Detective Constable Matt Dennis, of Aldershot CID, said: "This is a rare occurrence and we are keen to speak to anyone who has any information about what happened.

"Did you see anything suspicious? Did you see a man matching the above description?

"We would also like to identify and speak to the woman who came to the aid of the victim. She might hold information that could assist our investigation."
