Plans for Townland's Community Hospital have been approved by South Oxfordshire District Council.
Work on the £8.7 million centre in Henley is due to start in January 2013 and should be finished in the Summer of the following year.
Amber Infrastructure, in partnership with Vinci Construction, has been chosen as the developers for the site.
The hospital will have 18 NHS beds, 12 palliative care beds run by Sue Ryder Hospice, a minor injuries unit as well as a 64-bed care home on site.
The approval has been given subject to conditions and a legal agreement to provide key worker accommodation for those who work at the hospital and care home.
There were 31 complaints from the public including the building being too modern and dominant, loss of light and green space and an increase in traffic.
