A teenager's been arrested after being found outside a Berkshire school with what's believed to be an imitation gun.

Thames Valley Police were called at around 12.30pm today to reports a man had been seen in vehicle in the car park of Little Heath School in Tilehurst holding a gun.

A large number of officers were sent to the area and locked the school down, as well as others nearby.

Police found the vehicle and what is believed to be an imitation firearm in the glove-box.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested. Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and say no-one was injured or threatened.

Police officers are visiting schools in the area this afternoon to provide reassurance.
