Fire crews have been dealing with a fire at Didcot Power Station overnight.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue were called to an incident at Didcot A Power Station last night (Monday).

At the moment they're not giving out more details.

The dual-fuel site in Oxfordshire has been in use since the 1970s, and is run by Npower.

A spokeswoman for Npower told Heart:

“There has been a small fire at Didcot A power station and the fire service are in attendance managing the situation. Staff at Didcot will assess what action needs to be taken once the immediate situation is dealt with, though it is not thought to be serious.

"The power station, staff, and the surrounding area are not in any danger, and normal operation at the station is expected to resume quickly.”

Thames Valley Police say they've had "minimal involvement" and the incident is now being dealt with by staff at the power station.
