Man Hit By Car And Stabbed In Reading

Detectives in Reading are looking for a group of men who ran over a man with a car and stabbed him.

At around 7pm yesterday (November 12) a man in his thirties was walking along Cumberland Road when a number men drove up to him in two cars; a green Volkswagen Golf and a grey 3 Series BMW.

The green Golf struck the victim, who then ran away along Cumberland Road.

The men got out of the cars and assaulted the victim leaving him with stab wounds. He remains in hospital with injuries which police say aren't life threatening.

Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector David Turton, of Force CID based at Reading, said: 

“We are investigating this incident and following a number of lines of enquiry.

“We are in the early stages of the investigation but we do not believe that there is a wider risk to the public following this incident.

“As we continue to make enquiries, members of the public will see increased patrols in the area and anyone with concerns can speak to one of our officers.

“We are asking anyone with information in connection with this incident to please come forward.”
