Oxford: Arrest After Armed Post Office Robbery

A man's being questioned by police after an armed robbery at a post office in Oxford.

Shortly after 8pm on Tuesday (30 December), a man entered the Post Office in Downside Road in Risinghurst, threatened staff with a weapon and demanded money.

An amount of cash was taken from the till of the shop and the offender left on foot.
 
A second offender remained outside the shop. No one was injured during the incident.

A 28-year-old man from Oxford was arrested on Wednesday afternoon (31 December) on suspicion of robbery and is currently in custody.
 
Detectives are continuing to investigate the robbery and anyone with any information is asked to call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.
