A £1.2 million project to resurface main roads in Reading has started.
The borough council's annual summer road re-surfacing programme sees 17 main roads - or 60,000m2 of road surface - renewed.
The work starts as schools in the town start to break up for their summer holidays. The project is expected to last seven weeks, weather permitting.
Advanced notices have been put up in the last few days while notification letters have been sent to residents and businesses affected.
Signed diversions will be in operation for the duration of each closure.
In some instances, temporary parking restrictions on roads other than those mentioned in the list below will be necessary for the work to be carried out as quickly and safely as possible.
Reading Borough Council says this year’s main road resurfacing programme will continue until September and will overlap with resurfacing 35 minor/residential streets, which will begin in mid-August.
Work on residential streets is an additional £446,000 investment, bringing the overall spend this summer to more than £1.6 million.
