Second Woman Dies After M40 Crash

A second woman's died following a crash on the M40 at Stokenchurch.

Shortly before 10pm on Saturday 8 December, a grey Ford Fusion was travelling along the Northbound M40 between Junction 4 and 5, when it left the carriageway and continued into woodland at the side of the M40.

The driver and the passenger were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.

The passenger, a woman in her twenties from Gloucester, died shortly after the collision in hospital.

The driver, a woman in her forties from Gloucester, remained in a serious condition at the hospital but later passed away.

Both women’s next of kin have been told and they are being supported by our officers.

Investigating officer, PC Simon Nelson of the Joint Operations Serious Collision Investigation Unit, based at Three Mile Cross, said: 

“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends who have lost their loved ones following this collision.

“We are investigating on behalf of the coroner and would ask anyone with information or dash cam footage of the incident to please come forward.”
